Jordana’s Comedic Charm and Musical Mastery Captivate Portland Fans

Jordana’s concert at the Holocene in Portland last week was a night of lasting joy. Despite the very cold weather and predicted snow, fans still came out in full force, filling the 300-capacity venue with an electric atmosphere. Jordana played her debut album “Lively Premonition” in full, captivating the audience with her vibrant and emotive performances. The crowd was particularly enthusiastic during songs like “We Get By” and “Anything For You,” singing along and dancing to every beat. The bright yellow sign that said “Jordana” lit up behind her added a special touch to the stage, making the night even more memorable.

Jordana’s banter between songs was both comedic and personable, connecting with the audience and making them laugh at every chance. The energy in the room was palpable, with a mix of longtime fans finally able to see their fave at a headline show, and newcomers experiencing Jordana’s music live for the first time. It was heartwarming to see a few young girls at the front, with their moms hanging out in the back, likely creating a cherished memory of their first concert. Jordana’s multi-talented performance was a highlight, showcasing not only her incredible singing but also her skills as a violin player. The set ended on a high note with reimagined versions of her collaborative songs with TV Girl, leaving the crowd in awe and wanting more.

Jordana’s biography adds depth to her performance. The 24-year-old Maryland-raised and LA-based songwriter has been making waves with her Billboard-charting music. Her latest album, “Lively Premonition,” released in October, explores themes of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. The album, made with producer Emmett Kai, reflects her journey through crumbling relationships and newfound sobriety. The concert was a testament to her versatility and ability to connect with her audience. The merch table was a hit, with more than half the crowd purchasing Jordana-branded tote bags, which will undoubtedly be put to good use in Portland. I, personally, can’t wait to catch Jordana the next time she comes through town, probably playing a much larger venue.

Jenny Shackleton (she/her) is a photographer based in Portland, OR, originally hailing from Philadelphia, PA. Her love for live music started over 15 years ago after seeing the Jonas Brothers perform on their Burning Up tour in 2008 and the rest is history. As a naturally shy person, it’s surprising she feels so comfortable at concerts with hundreds of people attending, but has always believed that they are special, somewhat liminal, spaces. Everyone is there for the same reason: to have the best night and see artists pour their souls’ onto the stage. That is what Jenny likes to capture in her photos. Jenny enjoys spending time outside with her partner and their dog, watching movies, and owning way too many sneakers.
