Dope Lemon’s Electrifying Show at Roseland Theater

On May 21st, Dope Lemon brought their not-to-be-missed headline show to Portland’s Roseland Theater, supporting their new album Golden Wolf. The venue was packed like sardines, with fans eagerly awaiting Angus Stone’s arrival on stage. The atmosphere was electric, and the screams of “Let’s go Angus” from the balcony set the tone for an unforgettable night.

The concert was a visual feast, with lively and colorful background visuals that perfectly complemented the sultry, vibey singles from Golden Wolf. During one particularly memorable song, two large mascots with big heads—one a stoner-looking character and a witchy looking girl—danced on stage, adding a playful and surreal element to the performance. The crowd was mesmerized, and the mascots’ antics brought an extra layer of fun to the already vibrant show.

Angus Stone’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing his most vulnerable music to date. The setlist included fan favorites like “Home Soon,” “Electric Green Lambo,” and the title track “Golden Wolf,” each delivered with passion and precision. Stone’s connection with the audience was palpable, and his ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with captivating visuals made for a truly immersive experience. As Dope Lemon continues their North American tour, this show at Roseland Theater will undoubtedly be remembered as a highlight.

Jenny Shackleton (she/her) is a photographer based in Portland, OR, originally hailing from Philadelphia, PA. Her love for live music started over 15 years ago after seeing the Jonas Brothers perform on their Burning Up tour in 2008 and the rest is history. As a naturally shy person, it’s surprising she feels so comfortable at concerts with hundreds of people attending, but has always believed that they are special, somewhat liminal, spaces. Everyone is there for the same reason: to have the best night and see artists pour their souls’ onto the stage. That is what Jenny likes to capture in her photos. Jenny enjoys spending time outside with her partner and their dog, watching movies, and owning way too many sneakers.
