Conan Gray’s Wishbone Tour Will Stay In Your Memories
The Toyota Center welcomed Conan Gray on March 11 for the Wishbone World Tour in Houston, Texas. The tour is in support of his fourth studio album, Wishbone, released in 2025. The show is a cinematic experience that brings the album to life. Words and photos by Megan Eppolito.

Before the show began, “Bad Idea Right” by Olivia Rodrigo played. The lights and music instantly went out at the lyric “Stop,” and the crowd erupted in cheers. The show was split into four acts, with the titles displayed on the screen behind the band before each one began. The blue lights appeared for the first act, “A Wishbone Never Brakes Even,” as the band’s instrumentals of rhythmic guitars and drums built anticipation. The lights come up on a beautiful scene of a field of grass, a windmill and a mailbox. Conan entered the stage on a bike dressed in a sailor outfit, singing “My World.” This was one of the many sets that brought the songs to life throughout the show.
The details that were put into the production are outstanding. From the wishbone-shaped catwalk to the painted wishbone on the acoustic guitar, all of the elements perfectly came together, building upon the world that lives in Gray’s mind.
For the second act, “I Got the Short End of the Stick,” the stage unveiled clouds and a bed where Gray awoke from slumber, dressed in blue striped sparkly pajamas, opening with “Class Clown.” There were many moments of fan interaction throughout the show, including the second song of the act, “People Watching,” when Gray went into the crowd. The pure joy and happiness exuded on his face and through his vocals as he skipped and danced around on stage. In the following song, “The Cut That Always Bleeds,” the crowd held up their flashlights, illuminating the arena. They sang the lyrics, sounding ethereal. Their angelic voices singing in unison echoed through the room. Gray’s lead vocals soared, harmonizing with the echoes, creating a warm sense of community. During “Nausous,” the fans displayed a fan project. The pit held up paper hearts, the seated sections on the sides held up red flashlights and the middle section held up green lights. Gray thanked them and said it was beautiful.

Following Act II, Gray had his acoustic surprise section, an intimate moment of the show. He came back out on stage with a robe and his guitar as he walked to the catwalk, where there was a fake campfire set up. As he sat on the log, he sang “The Other Side,” one of his earlier songs from 2017. The moment of the show allowed a stripped-back delivery of the song.
Act III, “I Took The Long Way To Realization,” Gray sang “Romeo” in a boat dressed in an outfit like a prince from a Disney movie. He sang an unreleased song called “The Best” as the lyrics displayed behind him. He continued to interact with the crowd by walking around the catwalk, looking to choose a lucky fan to pick the next song by breaking a wishbone with him. The fan chose “The Exit” over “Yours.”
In the fourth act, “I Wished for Love, and I Found It,” Gray stepped on the stage wearing a sparkly blue uniform, singing “Actor” as the crowd erupted in cheers. He followed with an extended version of “Maniac,” where he introduced the band, then “Vodka Cranberry,” a high-energy song. The fans waited in excitement as he left the stage before returning for the two-song encore. He ended the show with “Caramel” serving as an emotional finale as the room filled with blue and white confetti.Â
The theatrical experience of the Wishbone Tour showcases the storyline inside Gray’s mind. It brings each song to life. Conan Gray puts on a fantastic show that you don’t want to miss out on. Check out the official website to get tickets to a show near you.
